  • Vintage (Soon to be Antique) 1930's traditional Ukrainian embroidered dress
  • Hand made in Ukraine with homespun cotton, much lighter than hemp, hand stitched and embroidered with red roses and black stems and leaves on the arms, neckline, wrist cuffs and bottom hemline.
  • The Slavic folk art of embroidery carries many symbols from the ancient, pagan ancestry of the Slavic peoples, long before Christianity. Many of which survived religious conversion and continue to be used today. Flowers are a symbol of new life, renewal, rebirth, fertility and femininity. Red roses in particular are a symbol of love, wealth and beauty, motherhood and procreation.
  • Vintage mother of pearl buttons close the neck, and wrist cuffs.
  • Features incredible hand stitching and gathering details
  • Cut in the traditional loose and wide tunic style with deep neckline and large billowing sleeves. Would traditionally be warn with a skirt over top, but is often worn belted as a dress in modern times.
  • Size Small-2XLarge depending on neck and wrist size
  • Measurements: shoulders are 20" across, chest/bust is 48" around, waist is 54" around, hip is 56" around, neck opening (with button done up) is 7" diameter, wrist cuff (with button done up) is 2" diameter, arm length is 19" long from shoulder seam to cuff, length of dress from shoulder to bottom hem is 41.5" long
