  • Antique 1920's Ukrainian vest (korsetka) in very rare colour and fabric
  • Handmade a century ago, in Ukraine in the Poltava region (Central Ukraine)! In an incredibly vibrant forest green very heavy velvet fabric. Trimmed with black velvet. Lined with homespun hemp linen, from hemp grown in Ukraine.
  • Has a pocket on the right side
  • Closes with an antique metal (rusted) hook at the shoulder, and has an antique brown floral motif ornamental button on the front
  • Features an empire waist and wide pleats at the back that move and flow out beautifully
  • There is an intentionally faded design on the lefthand side (shown in photos)
  • Size Medium
  • Measurements: chest/bust/ribcage is 36" around, waist is 46" around, hip is FREE size, arm opening is 8" diameter, length from shoulder to bottom hem is 27" long
  • In very good antique condition. This piece is very, very old and shows signs of it's age. There is some sun-bleached fading on the pleats at the back, some rubbing off of velvet at the arm openings and some staining and discolouration of the homespun hemp lining. Overall, the exterior of the piece still presents beautifully, as you can see in the photos. The right person will adore this wounded bird and give it new life!
  • I'm not gonna lie, I'm in love with this incredible piece and having a hard time parting with it! With all its little imperfections, it is still a gorgeous and very RARE antique piece of Slavic heritage, needing to be loved as the heirloom it deserves to be! This is heritage folk art that needs to live another day!
